1 cup crushed ice, divided
1⁄2 cup blueberries
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons heavy (whipping) cream
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 avocado, peeled and pitted
1. In a blender, place 1⁄2 cup of ice. Add the blueberries, almond milk, heavy cream, and coconut oil. Blend to combine.
2. Add the avocado and remaining 1⁄2 cup of ice.
3. Blend for 1 minute, or until smooth, and serve.
INGREDIENT VARIATION: Try this smoothie with blackberries instead of blueberries for a different twist on the berry and avocado pairing. Blackberries have a distinct flavor and a smoother, more velvety texture than blueberries.
